The renovated fitness center at Sagami General Depot is open after a more than two-year project to bring it back to its former glory. The upgraded facility includes an indoor basketball court and an air-conditioned weight room with strength and cardio fitness equipment available 24 hours a day.

After the Labor Day weekend Soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will open their new doors, cook some chow and relax in the beds of their new barracks rooms at Fort Campbell.

Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz held a town hall and information forum at the Rheinlander Community Club on Smith Barracks. The event engaged community leaders and Families in discussions centered around quality-of-life initiatives, construction and community development updates, resources available, and addressed questions from members of the Baumholder Military Community on a range of topics.

The annual Youth Leadership Forum provided a platform for teens from various installations to discuss and propose solutions to challenges they share. The teen panels this year primarily focused on the issues of healthy intimate boundaries, college readiness and life skills. Three Camp Zama teens served on a panel with other military children from around the world to discuss the top issues facing their unique demographic.

The Hunter Army Airfield command team joined education leaders from across the community for a ribbon cutting at Pulaski K-8 School on the installation. The event signaled the school’s transition from an elementary school with kindergarten through fifth grade students to a school serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz, in Baumholder, Germany, received a major accolade recently when it learned that its Child and Youth Services program has been selected to participate in the prestigious 2024-2025 Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s Innovate Program, a collaboration with Apple’s Community Education Initiative.
