Army Family Advocacy Program helps Soldiers and Families recognize and meet the unique challenges of the military lifestyle. FAP aims to enhance Family well-being and strengthen Soldier readiness by providing advocacy, prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment for domestic and child abuse and neglect, and problematic sexual behavior in children and youth. FAP services include skill-building classes, workshops, counseling and intervention methods, and New Parent Support Program home visits, aimed to strengthen Soldiers and Families by enhancing their resilience and relationship skills as well as their overall quality of life.

▶ New Parent Support Program

The program offers tools and resources for expecting parents and those with children up to age 3. Programs include home visits, support groups, and parenting classes on stress management, isolation, deployments, reunions, and everyday demands of parenting.

▶ Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth

Supports Families in understanding child sexual behavior keeping children safe. Promotes the wellness, safety, and healing of all children.

▶ Treatment and Intervention

FAP offers risk and biopsychosocial assessments to develop comprehensive treatment, safety and support plans for Families at risk. Provides evidence-based/ informed intervention strategies for individuals, groups and Families.

▶ Transitional Compensation Program

Congressionally mandated program that provides temporary support, services and benefits for Family members who have experienced domestic abuse or child abuse and neglect. Encourages victims to report abuse without fear of loss of financial or other support (such as medical health care coverage). TC is designed to help victims transition to safe environments, introducing tools and resources to equip, empower, and assist.

▶ Victim Advocacy Program

Provides 24-hour access to services, including emergency assistance, safety planning, information and referral, assistance with restricted an unrestricted reporting, support accessing medical, behavioral health, legal, law enforcement, and other community resources on and off the installation.

National Domestic Violence Hotline provides free, confidential resources for victims and families reporting domestic abuse.
