Improving Offline Relationships Through AI and Technology
Improving Offline Relationships Through AI and Technology
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, as we faced lockdowns, quarantine and social distancing, we turned to technology to save us from isolation. We went to online concerts, happy hours and dance hangouts, had virtual birthday parties, and even went on virtual dates. These activities—when we intentionally used technology to sustain and enhance our real-life relationships—seemed to fade with the return to “normal” life.

Latest DPRR News Updates

  • The Army has replaced the long-standing height and weight tables, circumference-based tape test, and supplemental body fat assessments with the Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) health assessment tool. This immediate change is part of a broader effort to accurately assess soldier health, increase force readiness, and continue to align the Army Body Composition Program with medically validated practices.

  • The alarm broke the silence just before 2 a.m. Outside, the rain had finally eased after falling on and off for nearly two days, leaving the gravel trails slick with mud and scattered puddles. The air was cold enough that every breath lingered beneath the glow of headlamps cutting through the darkness. There were no loud cheers waiting at the starting line, no countdown clock and little conversation. Just the quiet shuffle of runners tightening their shoes for another four-mile run.

  • Soldiers were at the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers “Warrior Zone” for a "Gather and Grub" event June 25 to recharge and to bring the community together. Home-cooked pulled pork, coleslaw and cookies were provided to those in attendance.

  • Prevention in Action: Leadership, SHARP and Readiness

Across the Army, prevention specialists work alongside Sexual Assault Response Coordinators and Victim Advocates to build a comprehensive approach to the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual assault that strengthens both immediate response and long-term cultural change. While SARCs and VAs provide confidential support to survivors, prevention professionals analyze trends, identify factors that hinder progress and assess what efforts have been made to counter those challenges.
